Below is a report by our President John Spath:
This is the first opportunity to address all members after the AGM at Umina Beach and of course, not all members were at the AGM.
I would like to thank Rob and Wendy Meyer and the team from eastern Zone for a terrific and well organised conference. The venue was fantastic and weather was great and the Central Coast proved a beautiful place to visit.
I would like to thank all the members who came and participated and made the conference a success.
I have some special people to thank for their involvement in the RVFR.
Our Secretary Barry Hodge, and wife Janet, who has been Secretary for 4 years serving Bob Blanch and now myself. I wish to thank Barry for staying for the extra year to allow an easy transition from one president to another. Barry has been coordinator of all the correspondence and membership applications and keeping the RVFR running smoothly. Barry has certainly made my life a lot easier, and Barry has always been able to put into words letters that I would struggle with. Again thank you Barry.
We have a new Secretary, Brian Burke, central West Zone, who I congratulate and look forward to working with for the next year.
Our Treasurer Bill has stayed on, probably till he gets it right. There should be a report from Bill in this newsletter, and it shows a healthy balance. As we are budgeting for additional expenses this year for a new website and more promotional material, the breakup to zones and National was changed at the AGM. We had some discussions about the method of membership fee payments and hope we will have them implemented for next year. The yearly membership fees have remained the same at $25 per annum per couple and hopefully we will not see an increase for a few years. There was some discussion about a three year fee of $70, which might make administration easier. Thanks Bill and look forward to a good year.
At the AGM there was not a nomination for Vice President, but since then a nomination has come from Victoria Zone for Lindsay Florence. Congratulations to Lindsay and look forward to working with you for the next year.
Our Immediate Past President Bob Blanch has been a tremendous help in the last 12 months, with some mentoring, being involved with the constitution review, helping to set up procedures and helping in executive decisions. I wish to thank Bob and Gloria and also thank them in advance for their on going support.
Webmaster John Thompson, who has brought the RVFR into the 21st century as far as technology is concerned, is to congratulated for an excellent job. He said he would set the web site up over the last two years and has done the job very well. David Fisher from Taree (eastern zone) is taking the reins and developing the website further.
Alan Redman is continuing with publishing the Overlander (quarterly). An excellent job done for the last 12 months, we look forward to support from the zones for their input. This Overlander gives an overview of all zones and overall programme for all zones.
Publicity Officer Rob Meyer is gearing up to try and raise our profile and hopefully soon we will have some materials that each zone can use to promote the RVFR.
The Constitution committee Chairman, Dugal Graydon, has done a terrific job and presented a comprehensive review of the Constitution. All but one motion was passed at the AGM and there still is some issues to clarify, which hopefully will be done by the AGM next year. The other members on the committee were Bob Blanch, Bill Vanderstaay, myself, Kevin Howard and others from time to time. We should have an updated Constitution available on the website for downloading soon.
Next year’s AGM is going to be at Tullebudgera on the gold Coast and details should be out soon for bookings etc. Victoria Zone has put their hand up to run the next year’s (2014) muster at possibly Barmera, details to come at next year’s AGM.
RI International Conference June 2014 to be held in Sydney. Eastern Zone is organising bookings at Lane Cove National Park; book through John Spath at president@rvfr-aus.org.au, with size of van, that is all we need at this stage. We are probably going to organise buses to and from Homebush Bay.
Looking forward to seeing you at an upcoming muster.
On behalf of Heather and myself, we wish you all the best for the Christmas season.

A Quick Summary of RFVR-Aus
We are a group of like minded Rotarians who enjoy participating in recreational pursuits including Caravanning and 4WD driving.
The principle objectives of this fellowship are social and our usual activity is to gather several times a year in different venues to enjoy ourselves!
Most of our activities occur on the East coast of Australia as that is where our present membership lives.
For convenience membership is divided into Zones on a geographical basis. We hope eventually to spread to other states in Australia.
There are more details in the "About us" page.
